Using the Reading Room

Once in two weeks, your English teacher will take you to the reading room. The reading room is run by the English Department. Currently it contains roughly around 100books purchased by the school. Some were donated by teachers & students.

Whenever your teacher takes you to the reading room, there are rules you must follow:

Pick something to read. You can choose story books in the fiction section, non-fiction books such as Questions & Answers, magazines or newspapers.

Choose any book you like!

Books on facts such as Horrible Histories, Guiness Book of World Records etc.

Harry Potter, Cinderella, That's So Raven etc.

Once you have something to read, sit down on the chairs and read quietly. You may discuss or share any book you are reading but don't make too much noise.

Once you have finished reading, put the book in its correct place. The books should be arranged in alphabetical order.

The books won't arrange by themselves!

Be responsible! Rearrange the books!

The right way: in alphabetical order & neatly!

Ask your teacher if you want to borrow a book. You must return it after a week. If not, your certificate will not be issued.

Write your name & title of book in the borrow/return book

Pick up any rubbish before you leave the room. Arrange the seats and make sure you do not leave anything behind.

If you need to refresh your mind regarding the rules, they are on the door!

Let's keep the reading room clean & tidy!

Watch out for new books in 2009!
