The month of May

A lot has happened in May and it's not over yet!

#1 Sakirah & Ruhana borrowed two books each from the reading room. Congratulations to them for being the only students in 3L1 who borrow books from the reading room!

#2 Please be careful when opening the reading room door from the inside. One student accidentally pulled the handle off the door! Luckily we weren't locked in. Thanks to Cg Joanne for fixing the door handle!

#3 The books in the reading room were arranged very neatly after some complaints were made. However, they were not put on the right shelves! CG. Joanne & I took more than an hour to rearrange every book.

For everyone's information the books are labelled according to the author. For instance, a Goosebumps book is labelled STI. So the book should be on the S shelf, not G. Non-fiction books have NF sticker on them. Put them on the NF shelf according to the number or BIO, GEO or HIS.

#4 The school debate team competed in the Junior Debate Competition held in STPRI. They competed in two rounds against SMSSA & SMRIPAS respectively. In the first round, our team had lost but emerged as winners in the second round. Unfortunately, our team did not collect enough points to go to the next stage.

The debaters were Farid, Nazirah & Zulfadhli of 4SCI1. Khairunnisa & Izzati were the reserve. Khairul Redzwan & Dk Lily were chairperson & timekeeper respectively.

Izzati replaced Farid in the second round. She was so calm.

Although the team didn't make it to the next round, Md Zulfadhli was voted best speaker in the second round while Nazirah was the second best speaker. The judges also praised the team for arguing well with well thought points and they put up a good fight! Not bad for SMRIMBA Debate Team because they had less than 24hrs to practise for the second round! Poor Zulfadhli only got his speech in the morning of the same day!

Congratulations to the team & hope we will win next year.

Meanwhile there will be exciting news for all Rimba students & teachers soon. Keep reading SMR Reads!
