More books!

A total of twelve new books from Scholastic for the reading room has arrived! They will be available for you to read next year as this term is ending soon.

There are four non fiction books for you to read. They are Changes in Population, Changes in Food and Farming, Changes in Climate & Changes in Animal Habitats. These books are informative and contain lots of diagrams, illustrations and photos. Suitable for lower secondary.

One of the books looks like this. Will be under non-fiction.

One of the fiction books available next year is The Magician's Elephant by Kate DiCamillo. Amazon description: The Magician's Elephant tells the tale of Peter Augustus Duchene, a ten-year-old orphan who receives an unbelievable piece of information from the local fortuneteller. Peter learns that his fate is tied to an elephant that has inexplicably fallen from the sky when a magician's trick goes terribly wrong.

This book is suitable for lower secondary students.

If you like to read about fantasy, try this book. Look under D.

If you are a big fan of Diary of a Wimpy Kid series, you're in luck because we have the latest book! Look for the Ugly Truth. Will Greg & Rowley remain friends? Find the book on the K shelf.

Suitable for Yr 8 & above.

If you like war stories, we have War Stories for Boys. The book contains short stories by different authors. This book is suitable for Yr 8 & above.

The book looks exactly like this

We also have the first book of The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod series: Eighth Grade Bites. Look for it on the B shelf.

My Guardian Angel will be on the W shelf. It's more suitable for upper secondary girls.

Two more books for girls to read. These are more appropriate for year 9 and above.

Will be on the B shelf

This book will be on the G shelf

The book "Kringle" by Tony Abbott will be on the A shelf. This book is suitable for boys and girls.

Unlike the Santa myth, this is a coming-of-age story about an orphan who becomes a force for good in a dark and violent time. It is a tale of fantasy; of goblins, elves, and flying reindeer; and of a boy from the humblest beginnings who fulfills his destiny.

These books will be the last additions to our growing collection for this year. These books were bought using the bonus coupons which we have earned this year. Thank you to all students and teachers who have helped us earn the coupons by buying items from Scholastic.
